How can you make beautiful music for beautiful gardens? Through Ecosong, an environmental music project that connects musical creators, community organizations, scientists and others to advance stewardship and make inspiring environmental music. Its song garden program matches musical artists from the community with specific gardens. The artist(s) create music for the garden, and Ecosong produces a studio recording. Then a plaque containing the song’s name and a QR code connecting to the song is planted in the garden.
Metro Blooms recently had songs created for two raingardens we installed in Minneapolis. Local musical artist Ardo Muse created the song “Ayatiin Ka Bari” (You May Learn) for Riverside Plaza. And Tufawon and Jayanthi Rajasa wrote “The Same Changes” for a raingarden at Fair State Brewing in Northeast. For more information, to hear some beautiful music, and to see a video of a “plaque planting” at Riverside, check Ecosong’s website.
