2023 Sponsorship

We invite you to sponsor our work. You would be supporting more resilient landscapes that protect our natural bodies of water and our pollinators, and the people and communities working with us towards creating them. Depending on the sponsorship you choose, you would benefit from your brand presence on our Metro Blooms and Blue Thumb websites, in our newsletter, at workshops and other events, and in social media callouts and blog posts.

Two of our sponsorship opportunities come through Blue Thumb, a network of clean water and native plant stewards creating change to bridge the gap between knowledge and action by offering resources and programs to Minnesota residents. Blue Thumb is the education program of Metro Blooms.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Resilient Yards Workshops

Each year, more than 1,000 residents attend our online Blue Thumb Resilient Yards workshops. These DIY workshops are focused on bee lawns, pollinator plantings, rain gardens, and other yard projects that are good for our earth, our communities and our pollinators. New in 2023, we’re adding shoreline and seed saving workshops to meet growing demand. Following workshops, more than 80% of attendees pursue a next-step project in their yard.

Sustainable Landcare Training

The Blue Thumb Sustainable Landcare Training program provides hands-on earn-and-learn opportunities to a new generation of skilled workers in green infrastructure, focusing on education and career  pathways for participants post-training. While there is a growing interest in green infrastructure across the Twin Cities Metro and much of greater Minnesota, there is a lack of education and training related to the proper installation and maintenance of these practices that create resilience in our environment and our communities. Low-income and communities of color are severely underrepresented in the green workforce.

Our training targets youth and young adults in communities that lack access to quality training programs, in partnership with local  governments, youth employment and community organizations. Sponsorships help us provide training stipends to participants, covers development and certification of this pilot program, and ensures capacity for a diverse training staff.

Event Sponsorship

Metro Blooms has served our communities since 1979. We are deeply rooted, working through long-held partnerships to collaboratively create landscapes that are resilient, accessible and responsive to the communities we work with. We began managing Blue Thumb in 2015, and through this have gained many partners on this journey. With community support, we’ve continued to grow and re-focus  our work through environmental healing and justice. We ask for your partnership so that together we  can put our resources where they make the biggest difference — in the communities that we serve.
