Do you want to make changes in your yard? We can help you get started. We offer one-hour consultations, either in person (onsite) or online through Zoom. One of our designers will tour your property with you, answering questions and brainstorming ideas. A virtual consultation uses mapping technology, photos that you share and online drawing tools help us to envision the changes you’d like.
Our staff is highly experienced in sustainable practices that will help make your yard more resilient. Among other things, our landscape designers are experts in native plants, turf alternatives, pollinator habitat and clean-water projects including raingardens, permeable pavement and runoff conveyance. Our staff bee lawn expert, an entomologist with a background in habitat restoration, gives consults on turf (your lawn).
Bee lawns add beauty and color, provide food for our pollinators (including Minnesota’s state bee, the rusty patched bumble bee!), and can withstand the same recreational activities as a traditional lawn. They also require less watering, mowing, and fertilizer. Our bee lawn expert, trained as an entomologist, can help you plan. Contact James@metroblooms.org for more information.
Metro Blooms Design + Build
Our consultations are now being offered by Metro Blooms Design + Build, our for-profit entity that supports our work as a non-profit. Metro Blooms Design + Build provides the same great design, installation and maintenance services you have come to expect from us.
Consultations, except for bee lawns, are currently on hold
Our consultation calendar is currently full. We are so grateful and near-literally blown away by the interest in our services. We apologize to those who are looking to currently schedule a consultation. We expect to be able to begin scheduling consultations again in late June. If you’d like to be notified when it’s available, please fill out the short form below.
Consultation Availability NotificationSorry, we are not currently scheduling consultations. This form will collect your name and email only to contact you once, when onsite consultations are available again.
What happens after a consultation?
A consultation is a first step. If you’re interested we can follow up with a garden design, comprehensive landscape plan, or stormwater plan. It’s up to you. Let us help you make your yard become more beautiful, functional and sustainable!
